BREAKING: Furious Trump Files CEASE AND DESIST LETTER Against Steve Bannon

Former White House Chief Strategist Steve Bannon said that Donald Trump Jr.’s 2016 meeting with Russian operatives in Trump Tower was “treasonous,” according to a bombshell new book “Fire and Fury” by author Michael Wolff.

The comments, which were released in an excerpt of the new book, dominated yesterday’s news cycle.

President Trump, who is reportedly “furious and disgusted” over Bannon’s comments, responded by filing a cease and desist letter against his former Chief Strategist.

Trump attorney Charles Harder said in a statement: ‘This law firm represents President Donald J. Trump and Donald J. Trump for President, Inc.

‘On behalf of our clients, legal notice was issued today to Stephen K. Bannon, that his actions of communicating with author Michael Wolff regarding an upcoming book give rise to numerous legal claims including defamation by libel and slander, and breach of his written confidentiality and non-disparagement agreement with our clients. Legal action is imminent.’

The cease and desist letter reads in part: ‘You [Bannon] have breached the Agreement by, among other things, communicating with author Michael Wolff about Mr. Trump, his family members, and the Company [the campaign], disclosing Confidential Information to Mr. Wolff, and making disparaging statements and in some cases outright defamatory statements to Mr. Wolff about Mr. Trump, his family members.’

The letter alludes to ‘monetary damages’ which could be owed to the President.

‘Steve Bannon has nothing to do with me or my presidency,’ Trump said in the statement provided by the White House that torches his former chief strategist. ‘When he was fired, he not only lost his job, he lost his mind.’

Both of those quotations in the statement were pronounced directly by Trump himself, sources told the Daily Beast.

Trump’s press secretary, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, then told reporters that the president was ‘furious’ and ‘disgusted’ by Bannon’s assault on the president’s son and son-in-law, Jared Kushner, who also attended the Trump Tower meeting.

Trump Jr. also took to Twitter to unleash on the ex-White House strategist.

‘Steve had the honor of working in the White House & serving the country. Unfortunately, he squandered that privilege & turned that opportunity into a nightmare of backstabbing, harassing, leaking, lying & undermining the President.

‘Steve is not a strategist, he is an opportunist,’ the president’s son wrote.

In another tweet, Trump Jr proclaimed: ‘Andrew Breitbart would be ashamed of the division and lies Steve Bannon is spreading!’

Do you think Trump is taking the right steps to protect himself from further damage by Bannon?
